Perithemis tenera (Eastern Amberwing)

The eastern amberwing (Perithemis tenera), is a small member of the Libellulidae family of dragonflies. Along with its coloration, it apparently rests and behaves like wasps in which they mimic. This individual was found at Sand Prairie Conservation Area in Scott County, MO.
